Freedom of Religion or Belief in a Global World
This course gives the student in-depth knowledge of freedom of religion or belief in a globalized world. Sometimes, governmental restrictions and social hostilities put these rights at risk. Particular attention is paid to and compare the mechanisms behind the design of freedom of religion or belief at global, regional and state levels.
Efter kursen förväntas studenten:
- show in-depth knowledge about the meaning and complexity of freedom of religion or belief, especially in relation to developments in Europe and the EU
- be able to formulate and argue for complex perceptions of the relation between freedom of religion or belief and other freedoms and rights
- be able to identify and formulate, with a high degree of independence and creativity, the knowledge and the arguments that are underlying the design of freedom of religion or belief at various levels in society, globally, regionally and nationally
- be able to independently apply the principles of freedom of religion or belief in different cultural and social contexts
