The project I am developing centers around the possibility of using democracy as a point of departure for understanding moral- and political responsibility for climate change. The project, which began in september 2020, has the working title Democracy as responsibility? A critical inquiry into moral- and political responsibility for climate change.
”The hypothesis I wish to examine is; depending on how one understands democracy, democracy will come across as a possibility or a difficulty in relation to having a moral responsibility- and taking political responsibility for climate change. The purpose of this project is thus to inquire into different understandings of democracy as a way of a) criticaly inquire into the current discussion on responsibility which is ongoing within the field of climate ethics and b) to inquire into to what extend democracy can or cannot be seen as a possibility for moral- and political responsibility for climate change.
