Public lecture series in Ecclesiology: “Political Theology: The Sacralization of the Secular and (Post)Modern (Il)Liberal Paradigms” by Professor Davor Džalto

The next lecture in Sankt Ignatios College, Stockholm School of Theology spring series of public lectures entitled “Political Theology: The Sacralization of the Secular and (Post)Modern (Il)Liberal Paradigms”, will be presented on Thursday, April 8 at 1PM (CET) by Professor Davor Džalto.

In his lecture professor Džalto will examine the concepts of “liberalism” and “illiberalism” (conservatism) which dominate our current socio-political discourse and analyze them as two manifestation of the same modern (secular-religious) paradigm. He will analyze the history of this dichotomy and how (Orthodox) Christianity, and in particular the eschatological perspective of Christianity, can offer creative alternatives.

These lectures are compulsory for Pastoral-pedagogical, Religious Educator program students, MA students in Eastern Christian Studies and MA students in International Relations and Ecumenism, but we encourage all of our students to take part. Students will be able to find the link to the lecture on Canvas.

These are public lectures and open to anyone who wishes to take part. If you would like to watch the lecture online, please fill in the form below and send it back to us with your email address. We will send a Zoom link to you 30 minutes before the lecture begins.
