Tell us about the report and why did you choose to write about this subject?
As a human rights researcher, it is critical to identify what areas should be developed in the future to protect people’s rights. So, as a South Asian, and as a group of South Asians, we recognize that our region continues to lag behind in the field of healthcare. After considering these issues, we decided to work on maternal mortality in Nepal and Sri Lanka. When we work on our research, we realize that it is a very sensitive topic around the world, and that it will need to be addressed in the future as well.
Did you work in team or independently? How was it to work in team/independently?
Yes we are work as a group. It’s great opportunity because work with international student mean sharing lot of important things and experiences.
What was challenging in the process of writing the report?
When preparing this paper, the main challenge was to find accurate data regarding maternal mortality. Another thing we need to do is carefully discuss and analyze the data and statistics because this is a highly sensitive subject all around the world.
What skills and experiences from previous courses in human rights were helpful during your work with the report?
In previous courses I gain lot of experiences which related to this course. Mainly research skills and critical thinking skills.

This course help me to develop my research skills and critical thinking skills
